“Advancing Earth Sustainability Through Geoscience and Technology”
The advances of technology has the potential to revolutionize the way we understand the Earth’s geological processes; it provides exciting opportunities for innovation and growth. The intersection of geology and the most current technology is changing the game for modern geologists and geoscientists. These new technological advances create enormous potentials in a wide range of field from mineral exploration to environmental and hazard monitoring. It allows development of new material and processes which help us build a more sustainable future.
Geological Engineering Department of Universitas Gadjah Mada present the International Conference on Geological Engineering and Geoscience (ICGoES 2024), an event that provides researchers, academics, practitioners and related communities a forum to discuss and exchange their latest research regarding the field of geological engineering, geo-resource engineering and geoscience through conference. The joint conference presents ‘Advancing Earth Sustainability Through Geoscience and Technology’ as this year’s theme. The conference theme is relevant for the developing countries in the ASEAN region which need to reach a common that technology is vital to maintain sustainable geo-resources and to address challenges in geological hazard mitigation. It requires an integrated approach and collaborative efforts to build a sustainable Earth for the next generation. This conference theme is specifically aimed as a first step to achieve coordinated regional level approach and collaboration in the ASEAN and Japan. The scope of this theme also covers many aspects from disaster awareness and preparedness to geo-resources sustainability and usage of the renewable energy sources.
This joint hybrid event (offline in Yogyakarta, Indonesia and offline from all over the world) provides the opportunity for all participants to initiate conversations while expanding their network, as a way for the community to achieve future collaborative and coordinated approach in a regional and international level. We invite all prospective participants, and we are looking forward to your contributions and ideas for pushing a new possible boundaries in geology.
